Holmes named principal of Chavez Elementary

Little Elm ISD is proud to announce the promotion of Ashley Holmes as the next principal of Chavez Elementary. The previously announced candidate has withdrawn from consideration, and during a special called meeting last night (Monday), the Board of Trustees approved Holmes for the position.

Holmes currently serves as the assistant principal at Brent Elementary, where she is known for her strong leadership, dedication to student success, and commitment to creating a positive school culture. She was named Brent’s Professional of the Year in 2024, recognized for her outstanding ability to mentor staff, support students, and foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Her leadership strengths include staff development, school safety, and building strong relationships with families and the community.

Prior to joining Little Elm ISD, she spent four years in Denton ISD as a Reading and Math Interventionist and third-grade teacher, and nine years in Plano ISD as a Special Education teacher and 1st and 3rd grade teacher.

Superintendent Mike Lamb shared, “We’re thrilled to have Ms. Holmes lead the staff and students of Chavez. She has a servant’s heart, she leads with love, and her contributions will be tremendous on that campus.”

Holmes will officially step into her new role as principal at the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year.
