Little Elm ISD is proud to announce that Hackberry Elementary has been recognized by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) as one of the 2024-2025 Student Leadership Award recipients. This recognition highlights the outstanding efforts of student leadership teams across Texas who go above and beyond to serve their schools and communities.
The Hackberry Elementary student leadership team stood out for their dedication to service, school spirit, and community engagement. From leading campus-wide initiatives to organizing events that promote kindness and school pride, these young leaders are making a lasting difference in Little Elm.
“We’re incredibly proud of our Hackberry students for stepping up as leaders and showing what it means to serve with heart and purpose,” said Steven Menezes, Principal of Hackberry Elementary. “Their hard work and compassion truly reflect the spirit of our school and our district.”
The TEPSA Student Leadership Award recognizes PK-8 student groups that demonstrate exceptional commitment through initiatives such as:
- Leading food and toy drives
- Visiting local senior citizens
- Honoring veterans
- Promoting teacher appreciation
- Improving their school environment
Hackberry’s recognition is part of a record number of teams honored this year. Award recipients will be celebrated during TEPSA’s fall Student Leadership Workshops across the state. Through these workshops, students and staff receive training and tools to continue growing their leadership skills and community impact.
This honor reflects Little Elm ISD’s commitment to growing future-ready leaders who are not only strong academically, but also compassionate, collaborative, and service-minded.
